After 4 months of hibernation the MFITNESS Team is ready to begin!

Our 2012 registration is now open and we begin on Monday April 22nd, 2012!

We are offering 5 weekly classes all at 5:30pm and all conveniently located in downtown Montreal.

We are looking forward to training with our returning members from last year and we hope to see some new faces too!

Don't be afraid of the name! "Cardiac Attack" or "Cardiac Arrest" as many members are now referring to this bootcamp class,  is just stair climbing mixed with abdominal exercises! We begin class at Mcgill College and Sherbrooke and we then do a walk/jog up peel - Once we arrive to the stairs we begin our stairclimbing drills. Single Steps, Double, Triple, Hops, Side Steps and even Suicides! Members are encouraged to complete between 3-10 sets during a class and everyone goes at their own pace. This is a GREAT way to help increase your cardiovascular system. In-between sets we also get our abs going - Check out the video below to see what we get up to Thursdays at 5:30pm!
 
 
We want to thank EVERYONE who participated in the MFITNESS BOOTCAMP Launch. We had 9 classes and just over 30 participants partake in the event. Everyone was supportive, motivated and even got down and dirty in the mud, rain and cold with us. GREAT JOB YOU GUYS!

We are now looking forward to the first four week camp which begins next week. Please be sure to contact us as soon as possible if you are wanting to sign-up as there is limited space available.

Our mission is to provide a variety  of quality classes with the best trainers, coaches and equipment in order to suite each individuals needs and goals. We not only provide great classes but will provide nutritional support for those wanting to maximize their results. It's FINALLY here!! Our BIG FREE WEEK LAUNCH!

Just a few key points to remember for those of you who will be joining us:

The MFITNESS Team is super excited to start training with you - We have been preparing for months so that we can offer you the BEST outdoor fitness classes in Montreal! Please see below for class descriptions, times and locations. You also must print and sign your PAR-Q and FREE WEEK Waiver and bring it with you to your first class you choose to attend. Please see below for details!

What you need to know about your FREE WEEK CAMP:
  • You may come to any/all classes listed below during the week of April 11th-15th.
  • There WILL be prizes given out - Memberships, T-Shirts, Books & More!
  • You don't need to bring anything unless you are going to the yoga class, in which case please bring a yoga mat.
  • All classes will run rain or shine, except for yoga. In the event of rain the yoga class will be canceled and you will be notified via email/facebook/twitter/training mobs.
  • ALL fitness levels are welcome - you WILL NOT get left behind. We have several helpful and friendly trainers on staff each class to ensure this won't happen.
  • You MUST bring your completed and signed FREE WEEK WAIVER & PAR-Q forms in order to participate in the classes. Please CLICK HERE to print forms.  (If you have already signed up for any of the other camps there is no need to reprint and sign these forms)

Fear is a big factor when it comes to signing up to a complete bootcamp because most people think "what if I'm not in good enough shape to do this?"

MFITNESS is for ALL LEVELS.

When I was working on the concept of the camp I wanted to make sure it was something that everyone would be capable of doing. A lot of people are scared that they are going to be left behind but that's not the case with MFITNESS. There will always be 2-3 trainers on staff to ensure no one if left behind but also to ensure that no one is held back.

You have to remember that the only person you are competing with is yourself. As long as you are giving it your all and putting 100% effort you WILL get a great workout. We noted on the description of each class as to whether it's for "ALL LEVELS", "INTERMEDIATE" or "ADVANCED". However you may still come to any class you wish and we will make sure you get through it. We will push your within your own limits and never beyond.

The idea of the camps is that with enough practice you will see an improvement in your overall level of fitness!

Coming for 4-5 classes a week is when you will see the most improvement and we will encourage you to eat within your caloric range as well if Fat Loss is also a goal.

So don't be scared - MFITNESS IS for everyone :-)

When I mentioned that I purchased some undulation ropes for the bootcamp I seemed to hear the same response over and over again.

"What are undulation ropes??"

A undulation rope is essentially a 40-60 foot rope that is used for rope training.

Rope training is very low impact for the joints yet works the muscles of the arms , shoulders , chest , back and core.

Generally the rope is looped around a tree or roped to the ground with kettlebells.  Then, while holding each of the rope ends with your hands you begin to move your arms as quickly as possible while keeping your core contracted and feet stationary.

There are many different variations and patterns that you do and by the end of your interval your shoulders will be burning and your heart will be pumping.

It's actually a LOT of fun! We will be using the ropes for our "Short Circuit Class"!

Don't forget to bring a toonie and loonie to class so that we can provide you with a post workout snack!

We will be selling Simply Bars on site for just $3 a bar for the full size bars and $2 for the Caramel Snack Bars.
They should help keep you feeling satisfied until you get home and are able to cook dinner. Our favorite flavors are Lemon Coconut and Chocolate Peanut-butter.
